SPRING INTO JAZZ

St. Helens, Tasmania – September, 2006

Spring into Jazz was held on 15/16/17th September at Doherty’s, and was in a similar vein to the Jazz Jamboree which was held in June.  There were fewer people this time but the event was most successful.

Two concerts were held – one on Friday night and the other on Sunday afternoon and the remainder of the weekend was devoted to jam sessions.  Dr Clare Hansson from Brisbane was an absolute delight.  Her warm, sincere personality oozed into the crowd, along with her superb piano renditions.  It was great to hear some of her own compositions as well as many classic jazz standards.
