JAZZ IS A FAMILY AFFAIR

Clare Hansson and her son Philip on double bass, with drummer Bob Watson, make up the Clare Hansson Trio.  Clare said there was a surprise element in her performance – ‘the audience does not expect a woman to play jazz piano.  I had many years of learning but not a lot of experience when I began a jazz career which has taken me all over the world.’  The trio, with the late bassist Horsley Dawson, have made two recordings Live At The Caxton and All Blues, which is played on Qantas in-flight programs.
