BRISBANE LADY OF JAZZ

Clare Hansson played jazz in the United States of America in July this year, combining a visit to friends in Canada and the US with performances and a chance to see the state of jazz in the States.  ‘The jazz scene is very lively over there and of course it’s world class.’  New York was her favourite jazz spot, where contemporary jazz is played by today’s greats.  Her career is centred in Queensland.  I caught her for this interview just as she was rushing to perform at Queensland Art Gallery one Sunday afternoon.
